Is it still worth it in 2026?

Yes, if you learn the version of the job employers are hiring for now. Demand is shifting rather than shrinking. Generic data and analytics postings on Indeed fell 14% in the three months to July 2026,3 and overall fresher hiring on Naukri rose just 1% in September. In the same month, AI/ML hiring rose 20% and fresher hiring in AI/ML rose 19%.2

Python from zero

Python is how analysts clean data and automate the dull parts. You don’t need any coding to start.

Can I become a Data Analyst without coding?

You can start without any. Excel and Power BI need none, and SQL and Python are learnable from zero (stages 1 and 4). Learn them anyway: SQL is how analysts get data out of company databases.

How long does it take?

About six months at about 10 hours a week, as laid out here. Less if you already know Excel or some Python.

Do I need a computer science degree?
